BAIRD, Irene Todd, writer (b 9 April 1901, Carlisle, England; d 19 April 1981, Victoria). She came to BC with her parents in 1919, settling at Qualicum Beach. After marrying in 1923 she moved to Vancouver where she and her husband Robert started a family. In 1931 she became the first female teacher at St George's School for boys.
