Baldonnel

BALDONNEL  () is an AGRICULTURAL settlement, service centre and BC RAIL stop on Hwy 97, 10 km east of FORT ST JOHN near the airport. An experimental farm here demonstrated that alfalfa could be grown successfully as a fodder crop in the PEACE R region. Baldonnel was named in 1923 by J.W. Abbott, an early settler and justice of the peace, after his home in Ireland.
