Belcarra


BELCARRA, village, pop 687 (2021), is a residential waterfront community at the mouth of INDIAN ARM in BURRARD INLET, opposite DEEP COVE. It was incorporated on 22 Aug 1979 as a member of the GREATER VANCOUVER REGIONAL DISTRICT and much of it comprises Belcarra Regional Park (11.48 sq km). Once an ancient village site of the TSLEIL WAUTUTH Nation, it is named for a place in Ireland and means "fair land on which the sun shines."
