BERKELEY, Edith (Dunington), biologist (b 6 Sept 1875, Tulbagh, S Africa; d 25 Feb 1963, Nanaimo) and Cyril, chemist (b 2 Dec 1878, London, England; d 25 Aug 1973, Nanaimo). After meeting as undergraduates at London Univ, where Edith had a scholarship, they married in 1902 and moved to India; there she aided Cyril's research into indigo culture and processing.
