BIRLEY, S. Patrick, architect (b 1904, Manchester, England; d 1962, Victoria). He articled with the VICTORIA architects K.B. Spurgin and J. Graham Johnson from 1931 to 1934. After serving in the Canadian navy during WWII he formed a brief partnership with D.C. Frame, then in 1946 became a partner in the Victoria firm Birley Wade and Stockdill.
