Bloedel, Prentice "Bing"


BLOEDEL, Prentice "Bing," lumberman (b 1900, Bellingham, WA; d 15 June 1996, Seattle, WA). After graduating from Yale Univ he intended to become a schoolteacher but instead entered the family logging business at his father's request. He began work at BLOEDEL, STEWART & WELCH, one of the largest logging/sawmilling companies on the BC coast, in 1929 and was president from 1942 to 1951. The company merged in 1951 with the H.R.
