Borsos, Phillip


BORSOS, Phillip, filmmaker (b 5 May 1953, Hobart, Tasmania; d 2 Feb 1995, Vancouver). He moved to PITT MEADOWS with his family as a youngster and became interested in FILMMAKING when he was in high school. His first films were theatrical shorts on industrial subjects. All 3—Cooperage (1976), Spartree (1977) and Nails (1979)—won Canadian Film Awards, and Nails earned an Academy Award nomination.
