BRAID, Kate, carpenter, poet (b 9 Mar 1947, Calgary). She was a member of the VANCOUVER Industrial Writers' Union from 1987 to 1995 and a founding member of Women in Trades. Her first collection of poems about her working experience, Covering Rough Ground, won the 1992 Pat LOWTHER Award from the League of Canadian Poets.
