BROWN, Audrey Alexandra, poet (b 29 Oct 1904, Nanaimo; d 20 Sept 1998, Victoria). She was the first important BC-born poet and the last important representative of romantic poetry in Canada. She wrote 5 volumes of poetry, A Dryad in Nanaimo (1931), The Tree of Resurrection and Other Poems (1937), Challenge to Time and Death (1943), V-E Day (1946) and All Fool's Day (1948).
