Deep Bay

DEEP BAY is on the east side of VANCOUVER ISLAND, 70 km north of NANAIMO opposite DENMAN ISLAND. Aboriginal people have fished here for 5,000 years. The Canadian Robert DOLLAR Co ran a LOGGING operation from a camp on the bay during 1917–31 and there was a fish processing plant from 1917 to 1951. Today it is a small resort community.
