Edgewater


EDGEWATER, pop 369, next to the COLUMBIA R in the Columbia Valley near KOOTENAY NATIONAL PARK, 93 km south of GOLDEN, was founded pre-WWI as a farm community. During the war many of the settlers returned to England and the community floundered, but it revived in the 1920s and now relies on AGRICULTURE and the FOREST INDUSTRY.
