ISLAND WEAVERS was a VICTORIA company producing handwoven tweeds and tartans between 1933 and 1974. It was founded by Maj Robin Murray, a retired British Army officer, and his wife Enid after they moved to Victoria in 1932. Mrs Murray studied weaving at Galasheils College in Scotland, only the second woman ever to apply to the renowned college, and her husband ran the business side of the operation.
