LANGFORD, district municipality, pop 35,342 (2016), is located west of VICTORIA at the south end of VANCOUVER ISLAND. It is part of the Capital REGIONAL DISTRICT and was incorporated on 8 Dec 1992. The PUGET'S SOUND AGRICULTURAL CO, which helped the HBC colonize southern Vancouver Island, established one of its farms here. Capt Edward E. Langford, the bailiff, named the farm COLWOOD after his home in England. Rural for most of its history, the district has grown rapidly over the past 2 decades...
