LINGCOD (Ophiodon elongatus) belongs to a family of FISH called greenlings, and it is the only Canadian greenling whose large mouth is filled with canine-like teeth. Other defining characteristics are small scales and a long single dorsal fin. Its colour varies with its surroundings, but it is mainly dark mottling over brown, grey, green or blue shades.
