Marine Parks


MARINE PARKS are provincial PARKS designated to facilitate marine recreation and/or conservation. They are meant for boaters and only a few have road access. The vast majority are on the coast but there are also some on large Interior lakes, notably Upper and Lower ARROW, KOOTENAY and SHUSWAP lakes. The first marine park was established at MONTAGUE HARBOUR on GALIANO ISLAND in 1959.
