McGEER, Gerald Grattan, lawyer, politician, mayor of Vancouver (b 6 Jan 1888, Winnipeg; d 11 Aug 1947, Vancouver). One of the most prominent, flamboyant politicians in VANCOUVER's history, he is described by his biographer as "the most successful failed politician of his time."
