MOUNTAIN GOAT (Oreamnos americanus) is a hoofed mammal widespread in the mountainous Interior of the province, where it subsists on a wide variety of plants. About 60% of the N American population is found in BC, an estimated 50,000 animals. Adult males weigh 80–135 kg; females are smaller.
