Radium Hot Springs


RADIUM HOT SPRINGS, village, pop 583 (2001), overlooks the COLUMBIA R at the edge of KOOTENAY NATIONAL PARK in the ROCKY MTS, 134 km southwest of Banff. It is a resort community famous for its odourless mineral springs. The springs were used by the KTUNAXA (Kutenai) people long before they were officially discovered by HBC Gov George SIMPSON in 1841.
