VANCOUVER MUSEUM is located near Vanier Park in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of VANCOUVER. It began in 1894 when a group of local history enthusiasts calling themselves the Art, Historical and Scientific Assoc of Vancouver began collecting artifacts. The collection began receiving civic financial support in 1904 and the next year moved into the Carnegie LIBRARY building, where it remained for 6 decades.
