WELDWOOD OF CANADA LTD began operations in 1945, when a predecessor company, Western Plywood, opened a VANCOUVER plywood plant. A second plant was opened at QUESNEL in 1951, and in 1964 the company combined with 2 Ontario plywood firms, Hay and Co and Weldwood Plywood, to form Weldwood of Canada.
