Youbou


YOUBOU  () , pop 727, was a SAWMILL community on the north shore of COWICHAN LK, 45 km west of DUNCAN on VANCOUVER ISLAND. It was the site of the first sawmill on the lake in 1913. When the CNR reached the community in 1925 it was called Cottonwood; the next year it took the name Youbou after 2 pioneer loggers, Yount and Bouten.
