Yukon Field Force


YUKON FIELD FORCE was a force of 203 soldiers sent to the Klondike goldfields in 1898 by way of BC to assert Canadian sovereignty and support the North West Mounted Police already stationed there (see GOLD RUSHES). Commanded by Lt Col T.D.B. Evans, the force consisted of militia volunteers, mainly from the Royal Canadian Regiment.
