Dakin Islets


Dakin Islets (52˚16'00" 128˚09'00" Spiller Channel, S of Yeo I, E of Milbanke Sd, N of Bella Bella). The name is a misspelling for William Philip Daykin (1842–1916), who came to Canada from England in 1886 with his wife, Helen (1843–1903, née Strelley), and family. He became a lighthouse keeper, first at Sand Heads, then at Race Rocks, 1888–91.
