Danube Rock


Danube Rock (53˚13'00" 132˚12'00" Entrance to Kagan Bay, Skidegate Inlet, QCI). Named in 1891 when the merchant steamship Danube, under Capt William Meyer, struck this hazard. The 66-m, 805-tonne vessel had an adventurous life. It was built near Glasgow in 1869 for the Scottish Oriental Steamship Co and named United Empire.
