Dawes Point


Dawes Point (54˚19'00" 130˚31'00" S end of Tugwell I, W side of Metlakatla Bay, W of Prince Rupert), Dawes Rocks (54˚18'47" 130˚31'38" Off S end of Tugwell I). According to Capt John Walbran, the missionary William Duncan named the point after “Gen Dawes,” a retired British Army officer and important supporter of the Anglican Church Missionary Society in London about 1860.
