Deadman Island


Deadman Island (49˚18'00" 123˚07'00" Coal Hbr, Burrard Inlet, Vancouver). This 3-ha island was a former burial ground for Skxwúmish (Squamish) and X’muzk’i’um (Musqueam) First Nation groups using the Stanley Park area (its X’muzk’i’um name was Skwcàs, or “island”)—and for the old community at Brockton Point.
