Degnen Bay


Degnen Bay (49˚08'00" 123˚43'00" S end of Gabriola I, Gulf Is). The Degnen family farmed on Gabriola I for many years. Thomas Degnen (1832–1921), from Ireland, and his Cowichan First Nation wife, Jane Janimetga (1833–1919), were the original settlers, in the early 1860s, and many of their descendants stayed in the area.
