Delusion Bay


Delusion Bay (54˚16'00" 130˚23'00" S end of Digby I, just SW of Prince Rupert). GTP assistant harbour engineer Joel Pillsbury gave the feature this name about 1908 after confidently setting up camp there at high tide. When he returned at low tide, he was surprised to find the bay, which had every appearance of a good anchorage, completely dry—hence the “delusion.”
