Denison Island


Denison Island (51˚20'00" 127˚33'00" Entrance to Boswell Inlet, Smith Sd, S of Rivers Inlet). Frank Napier Denison (1866–1946), from Ont, came to Victoria in 1898 as assistant Dominion meteorologist. He designed the observatory on Gonzales Hill, which was built in 1914, and lived there with his wife Ethel Margaret Elizabeth Walbran (1874–1945), whom he married at Victoria in 1904.
