Dibrell Bay


Dibrell Bay (54˚14'00" 132˚58'00" E side of Langara I, NW of Graham I, QCI). Capt Walter C Dibrell of the US Coast and Geodetic Survey vessel Explorer was charting S Alaskan waters in 1907 at the same time that Capt Frederick Learmonth, who named this feature, was doing survey work with HMS Egeria. Dibrell served as senior CO of the US Coast Guard & Lighthouse Service at Ketchikan, Alaska, 1913–39.
