Dionisio Point


Dionisio Point (49˚01'00" 123˚34'00" NE point of Galiano I, Gulf Is). After Spanish naval officer Dionisio Alcalá-Galiano, who visited this area with Cayetano Valdés—aboard the Sutil and Mexicana, respectively—during an important exploration of the BC coast in 1792. See Alcala Point. Named by Cdr John Parry of HMS Egeria while re-surveying Porlier Pass in 1905. Dionisio Point Provincial Park was established there in 1991.
