Dobbs Islets


Dobbs Islets (52˚36'00" 129˚09'40" Entrance to Clifford Bay, W side of Aristazabal I). Sapper George Dobbs was a member of the Columbia detachment of Royal Engineers, which served in BC 1858–63. He never reached the colony, however, as he apparently deserted en route at San Francisco in Oct 1858. Regional hydrographer Henri Parizeau named geographic features for dozens of Royal Engineers in the mid-1920s.
