Dodwell Island


Dodwell Island (52˚00'00" 128˚13'00" Off S side of Campbell I, just S of Bella Bella). Possibly named about 1944 after Harold W Dodwell, an RCNVR paymaster lt cdr, who enlisted for both World Wars. He was secretary to the CO at HMCS Protector, the naval base at Sydney, NS, 1939–43, and then came to BC to serve as paymaster and secretary to the CO at HMCS Givenchy, 1943–45.
