Dolphin Island


Dolphin Island (53˚47'00" 130˚26'00" S of Porcher I, Browning Entrance, SW of Prince Rupert), Dolphin Lagoon (53˚47'00" 130˚27'00" W side of Dolphin I). Lt Herbert Dolphin (1839–83) served on the Pacific Station, 1866–68, based at Esquimalt aboard HMS Sparrowhawk. Dolphin I is the site of the ancient Tsimshian First Nation fishing village Kitkatla.
