Dorman Bay


Dorman Bay (49˚22'30" 123˚19'34" E side of Bowen I, S of Snug Cove, Howe Sd, NW of Vancouver). Jacob Dorman (1858–1939) and his wife, Sarah (1862–1948), were Bowen I pioneers who first pre-empted land there in 1890. Jacob was born in Turkey, served in the Indian Army and in 1885 came from England to Canada, where he worked as a pipefitter for the CPR at Yale. Sarah, a strong Methodist, was born in London.
