Draper Islets


Draper Islets (52˚35'13" 128˚45'31" Off NW side of Swindle I, Laredo Sd). James Nelson Draper (1834–98) was born at Woodstock, NB, and came to New Westminster in 1858. According to journalist Barry Mather, he erected the city’s first office building and served as the representative of the Victoria lumber firm T G Jackson & Co. Draper married Katherine Vickery (1835–1917), of NB, in 1862 at Victoria. He was New Westminster’s harbourmaster in 1890 and is listed as a clerk in that city...
