Duck Island


Duck Island (49˚05'59" 123˚07'18" Mouth of Fraser R between Westham I and Rose I). Named for its feathered inhabitants, which were especially valued as a never-ending supply of targets for hunters, such as businessman and former BC lt gov Eric W Hamber, president of the Duck Island Ranch Co, which leased the island as a shooting preserve for many years.
