Duncanby Landing


Duncanby Landing (51˚24'20" 127˚38'43" E side of Goose Bay, S side of entrance to Rivers Inlet). James Graham built a wharf, store and fuel station at this spot about 1936 with the help of his father-in-law, cannery man Frank Inrig. According to Ken Campbell’s Cannery Village: Company Town, Inrig wanted to call the location Duncan Bay after his friend Tom Duncan, who had worked for him at Port Essington as an engineer.
