Dusenbury Island


Dusenbury Island (49˚37'19" 124˚02'20" Gerrans Bay, Pender Hbr, NW of Vancouver). Ex-boxer and mechanical genius Hiram “Harry” Eugene Dusenbury (1873–1953) showed up at Pender Hbr in 1905, bought this island and built a machine shop and boat-repair business there. He was a major force behind the establishment of Pender Hbr’s hospital.
