Eden Island


Eden Island (50˚45'00" 126˚40'00" S of Broughton I, NE end of Queen Charlotte Str). Adm Sir Charles Eden (1808–78) was comptroller-gen of the British Coast Guard in the late 1850s and a lord of the Admiralty, 1859–66. As capt of HMS London he took part in the shelling of Sebastopol during the Crimean War. Named by Lt Daniel Pender about 1864. W
