Race Passage


Race Passage (48˚18'00" 123˚32'00" Off S end of Van-couver I, N of Race Rks), Race Rocks (S of Race Passage, SE of Christopher Point). Nine-knot (17-km/h) tidal currents or “races” form in this area, especially where flows are channelled around the Race Rks. Dangerous rips and overfalls can form in Race Passage when strong winds oppose the tide.
