Ralph Grey Point


Ralph Grey Point (48˚49'00" 123˚11'00" S end of Samuel I, off NW Saturna I, Gulf Is). Ralph Geoffrey Grey (1861–1943) came to BC with an Irish friend, George Rutherford, and bought 170-ha Samuel I, located between Mayne I and Saturna I, in 1889. Rutherford returned home and Grey became the sole owner of the property, receiving a Crown grant in 1905. He was supposedly a distant—and very much poorer—relative of the Earl Grey who was gov gen of Canada in 1904–11. Ralph farmed Samuel I...
