Rankin Cove


Rankin Cove (49˚10'00" 125˚43'00" W side of Tofino Inlet, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I), Rankin Rocks (49˚11'00" 125˚42'00" Just E of Rankin Cove, entrance to Tranquil Inlet). John S Rankin pre-empted land N of Florencia Bay, SE of Tofino, in 1900. MacMillan Bloedel Ltd later built a logging camp at Rankin Cove with sorting and loading facilities. Rankin Ck flows S into Rankin Cove. The Rankin Rks were formerly known as the Yellow Rks.
