Reifel Island


Reifel Island (49˚06'00" 123˚11'00" Mouth of the Fraser R, between Westham I and Lulu I). Named for George Conrad Reifel (1893–1973), a Vancouver brewer and distiller, who acquired the island in 1926. His father, Henry Reifel (1869–1945), had established an early Vancouver brewery on Brewery Ck in Mt Pleasant, which later expanded to become Vancouver Breweries (purchased by Carling O’Keefe).
