Renner Point


Renner Point (53˚02'00" 131˚53'00" N tip of Louise I, off NE Moresby I, QCI). QCI pioneer Joseph Renner ranched and farmed at the W end of Maud I in Skidegate Inlet. He was born in Switzerland and had pre-empted land on Graham I at Lawn Hill in 1909, but left it to search elsewhere for work. In 1914 he married Lena Hubley, the widow of a former Lawn Hill neighbour, and the couple moved to Maud I, where Joseph had received a Crown grant in 1911.
