Rooney Bay (53˚16'00" 131˚59'00" SE end of Graham I, QCI), Rooney Point (54˚01'00" 132˚10'00" NW side of Masset Sd, Graham I). Matthew Rooney, an Irish adventurer who arrived in San Francisco in 1851 from Australia, was capt of the ill-fated US schooner Susan Sturgis, which sailed to the QCI in 1852 in response to rumours of gold.
