Rose Rock


Rose Rock (48˚40'55" 123˚23'50" N end of Page Passage, E of Canoe Bay, off NE end of Saanich Peninsula, N of Victoria). Named after Rose May Copeland (1895–1962, née Reid), who purchased nearby Johnson It (qv) in 1934 and lived there for many years, owning the property until her death. She was a pioneer in the area and a well-known and respected member of the community. An attempt to have Johnson It renamed for her was denied by the BC government in 1964, and this name was adopted instead...
