Ross Bay


Ross Bay (48˚24'28" 123˚20'38" E of Clover Point, S side of Victoria). Named for members of the Ross family, who owned a 60-ha waterfront estate here in Victoria’s colonial days. Charles Ross (c 1794–1844), from Kincraig, Scotland, joined the HBC in 1818 and worked as a clerk at remote trading posts across the Canadian NW.
