Ross Island (52˚10'00" 131˚07'00" At entrance to Rose Inlet, S end of Moresby I, QCI). Dr William Ross was assistant surgeon aboard HMS Virago, under Cdr James Prevost, and served on the Pacific Station, 1852–55.
