Ross Passage


Ross Passage (49˚20'00" 126˚03'00" E of Flores I, NE of McKay I, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Named for John Telford Ross (1868–1964), a Presbyterian missionary and teacher who came to Diana I in Barkley Sd in 1905. He was appointed principal of Ahousat’s large First Nation residential school about 1910–16, after which he taught at Ucluelet.
